Why I'm starting a blog today

It's been quite a journey that has brought me to where I am today, so here is my story.

It's quite surreal writing this, sitting in the living room of my mum and dads house in Newcastle. Only a few weeks ago, I was spending my days in Australia, with a great tan and a lovely helping of sunshine. My next plan was to head back to New Zealand to do another winter season. However we find ourselves in a very unique time, there is a lot of uncertainty and the options I once had, I might not have anymore.

I am defiantly not the only person affected by COVID-19, I think I am one of the lucky ones. We managed to get back to the UK safely, that can't be said for the 1000's of British people still stuck in Australia- that story is for another blog post.

I'm very grateful to have a house to come back to. I'm also grateful to every single key-worker who are out there, doing their bit to protect and help our communities, without you this time would not be possible.


So in light of these crazy times, I wanted to to spread some love and joy to as many people that I can. I want to create a community of escapism, indulgence, love and laughter through tales of adventures, lifestyle loves and delicious plant based food.


So a few weeks back, I set about designing this online community. I created a website, a business and cooked and ate a lot in the kitchen to bring you some of my favourite treats and ideas. I trawled through my note books that were filled full of ideas that I've collected from the past 6 years and started writing.
